Hair by Lady Gaga

I was inspired to do this back before vacation (there is a post with the preliminary drawings), but I just finished today!  I'm thinking it needs a little more lyrics or something extra, but I'll let you decide. Leave advice or suggestions in the comment box. And be sure to check out the song if you haven't heard it before.

Just face, no hair yet.

Some hair. It looks more red that it actually is. I think it's just the lighting.

And again, kind of red. This is the base coat before I added all the the dimension. I felt like a hair stylist mixing up shades of brown.

Here's the hair with added dimension. Now it's ready for some song lyrics.

Finished product ready to be hung up.

Finished product on the wall!

She likes to be by the window so she can get wind in her hair ;)

Canvas for a Friend

Can you say... Geaux Tigers!

Lazy Sunday

Just a little canvas for my bathroom. Ice blue metallic paint on a little canvas with glossy black for the chandelier stencil.

Great addition to the metallic 90s wallpaper in my bathroom.

Fleur De Lis Canvas

I used a fleur de lis stencil to make a cute little canvas. Just a late night project to cure boredom.

Next Big Project: Materials

My next project involves this large canvas (in the back of my car) and the picture below, as well as the song lyrics.

Still my heart and hold my tongue. I feel my time, my time has come. Let me in, unlock the door .I never felt this way before. And the wheels just keep on turning. The drummer begins to drum. I don't know which way I'm going. I don't know which way I've come. Hold my head inside your hands. I need someone who understands. I need someone, someone who hears. For you I've waited all these years. For you I'd wait 'til kingdom come. Until my day my day is done. And say you'll come and set me free. Just say you'll wait you'll wait for me. In your tears and in your blood. In your fire and in your flood. I hear you laugh I heard you sing. I wouldn't change a single thing. The wheels just keep on turning. The drummers begin to drum. I don't know which way I'm going. I don't know what I've become. For you I'd wait 'til kingdom come. Until. my days my days are done. Say you'll come and set me free. Just say you'll wait, you'll wait for me. Just say you'll wait, you'll wait for me. Just say you'll wait, you'll wait for me.

Jim and Pam Pt. 2

I decided to give my Jim and Pam painting just a bit of a touch up. They look superfab now.

This is what they looked like before. The water and a lot of Jim needed retouching.

And here they are after touch-ups!

Accent Pieces

I got these cool stencils from Hobby Lobby that are similar to the designs on my duvet cover, so I painted some cute accent canvases for my room.

This is my inspiration for the project: my duvet pattern and a painting from my room that my grandmother painted

It was way too plain with just one stencil on it, so my friend Hilary suggested I do an overlay of other stencils with different colors.

And.....voila! Here's the finished product. Not so bad if I say so myself.

Saturday Trip to Hobby Lobby

My roommate is going out of town this weekend, so I've got to keep myself occupied all weekend. I'm going to get a few canvases and paint some things for my room. I need more equipment from home and from my parents in order to work on my Black Swan tutu and my dining room chairs. I would bake a cake this weekend, but I'd probably eat the whole thing by myself. I have zero self control.

Here are a few adorable pictures of baby animals. I'm feeling really maternal lately.

Lunch Today and My Upcoming Trip to Hobby Lobby

Thanks to Tupperware, I was able to eat my dinner last night for lunch today.  I guess  you could say I'm a little obsessed with salmon at the moment. Also, I have nothing to post about, because I've banned myself from Hobby Lobby until Saturday.  That's the last day I can use the 40% off one item coupon.  I'm going to buy a large canvas for above my bed to paint the lyrics from Coldplay's "Till Kingdom Come." Will post more about this project later.  Also, Saturday is the last day for the 30% home decor fabric. I think I've decided on the striped fabric for the dining room chairs.

The Giant Utensils

So I was in Pier 1 a couple months ago, and I saw the below giant wall utensils. At about $70 each they're obviously well out of a college student's price range.

Then I found some brown wood-like wall utensils at Hobby Lobby. During the 50% off wall decor sale, the utensils were about $8 each. With a couple coats of silver paint, they were superfab and ready for use (sort of).

After about a week, my roommate suggested we get a "plate" to make a giant place setting. So we bought a circluar-shaped mirror and rotated the table to give us the giant place setting.
